1. Definitions
"Service" refers to the Equation Engine website, calculators, API, and related services.
"User" or "You" refers to any individual or entity accessing the Service.
"Content" refers to all software, text, images, data, and other materials available on the
Service.
2. License to Use the Service
Subject to these Terms, Equation Engine grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your internal personal or business purposes.
No Source Code License. The Service is proprietary and closed source. Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, no rights are granted to you.
Restrictions. You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or create derivative works of the Service;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code (except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law);
- Access the Service via automated means (scraping, bots) except as expressly authorized;
- Interfere with or circumvent rate limits, access controls, or security measures.
3. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is". Equation Engine makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims all other warranties, including without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Outputs are estimates for informational purposes only and may be incorrect; you are solely responsible for verifying results before relying on them.
This tool is for educational and reference purposes only. It is not intended for safety-critical applications.
4. Limitations of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Equation Engine or its suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues.
In no event will our total liability exceed the amount you have paid to Equation Engine in the last 12 months, or $100 if you have not had any payment obligations.
5. Service Availability & Modifications
We do not warrant that the materials on our website are accurate, complete, or current. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that interrupts, damages, or impairs the service. You agree not to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or computer systems connected to the Service.
7. Accounts & Security
If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
8. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service (excluding content provided by users) are and will remain the exclusive property of Equation Engine and its licensors. User-generated content remains the property of the user, but by submitting it, you grant Equation Engine a license to host, use, and display it as necessary to provide the Service.
9. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described therein.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
